In this PhD role, you will work on innovative solutions for pharmaceutical research, using synthetic chemistry, bioconjugate chemistry, nanotechnology, and enzyme engineering. You'll be part of the Graduate School at the University of Basel, collaborating with a broad European network and contributing to impactful scientific advancements.

Deine Aufgaben

  • Design and carry out enzyme-based strategies for peptide synthesis
  • Perform experimental work in synthetic and analytical chemistry, including product characterization using NMR, LC-MS, and spectrophotometric measurements
  • Optimize chemical reactions and engineered enzymes
  • Contribute to teaching, supervision, and group activities as required
  • Prepare scientific publications and present research at conferences

Was du mitbringst

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field with practical experience in synthetic chemistry
  • Strong interest in protein science and biocatalysis, and willingness to develop new skills
  • Experience with molecular biology, protein (bio)chemistry, or peptide synthesis is a plus
  • Ability to work both independently and in a multicultural, interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent written and spoken English; German is an advantage
