• Design and build AI-based decision-support systems for manufacturing uses
• Develop large language model (LLM) architectures such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation, tool-augmented agents, and modular AI pipelines
• Connect different industrial data sources like sensor data, lab results, engineering documents, and expert knowledge
• Create scalable system structures for AI use in factories and industrial settings
• Turn research ideas into real AI solutions for production
• Build and test prototypes with industry partners

• CH/EU/EFTA citizenship or valid Swiss work permit
• PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related area
• Strong programming skills with Python
• Experience with machine learning or LLM-based systems
• Experience with complex data systems or building applied AI prototypes
• Familiarity with modern AI tools like LangChain, vector databases, or RAG architectures is a plus
• Self-motivated, structured, and curious about new AI technologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in interdisciplinary, industry-focused teams
• Fluent in German and English
