Join a vibrant and international research group at ETH Zurich and contribute to the PhenoMix project, focusing on the field phenotyping of legume-cereal crop mixtures. You'll be part of a team dedicated to understanding how crop mixtures impact microclimate, plant traits, and ecosystem services, with opportunities for professional growth and meaningful impact.

Deine Aufgaben

  • Measure canopy microclimate, canopy architecture (such as height and leaf area index), plant traits, and biomass to assess crop light and space use
  • Conduct soil resource supply measurements and plant sampling for stable isotope analyses to evaluate crop nitrogen and water use
  • Quantify litter decomposition, leaching, weed pressure, and yield quality to assess ecosystem services
  • Evaluate plant phenotyping models in collaboration with other PhenoMix project teams
  • Perform statistical analyses, including machine learning approaches
  • Present research at national and international events and contribute to publications
  • Assist with plot establishment, maintenance, and harvest across all PhenoMix Work Packages

Was du mitbringst

  • Master’s degree in agricultural sciences, biology, environmental sciences, ecology, or a closely related field
  • Experience in plant ecophysiology, soil science, community ecology, and/or stable isotopes
  • Fieldwork experience
  • Strong statistical skills and programming experience (for example, in R or Python)
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Driver’s license
  • Good writing skills
  • Ability to work well in an interdisciplinary team
