Join a highly international team at ETH Zurich and help coordinate, develop, and support research activities in the International Relations & Data Science Group. You will play a key role in making sure research projects run smoothly and help the group grow its research impact worldwide. You will work closely with team members from many countries and backgrounds and be part of exciting, cutting-edge research.

Deine Aufgaben

  • Coordinate externally funded research projects, including managing timelines, deliverables, and teamwork across international research teams.
  • Support the development, preparation, and submission of grant applications by organizing inputs, timelines, and partner contributions from different institutions and countries.
  • Oversee scientific and financial reports for funded projects, working with ETH administration and international partners.
  • Support contract processes, such as research and collaboration agreements, and act as a link with ETH grants, legal, and research offices, as well as external partners.
  • Coordinate research activities, milestones, and workflows across multiple projects and group members in a diverse, international environment.
  • Serve as the main coordination point between the group and collaborating teams at ETH Zurich and partner institutions worldwide.
  • Support fieldwork and project logistics as needed.
  • Help coordinate team members and keep effective research processes, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Facilitate communication across institutions, disciplines, cultures, and time zones to ensure smooth teamwork.
  • Depending on your experience and interest, contribute to research tasks like background research, literature reviews, drafting or revising grant proposals, and supporting academic publications with an international focus.

Was du mitbringst

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in international relations, political science, economics, data science, or a related field.
  • Several years of professional experience coordinating projects in a research setting or international organizations.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of coordination tasks, and manage complex research support across multiple stakeholders and institutions.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to work well with academics, researchers, and international partners.
  • Excellent written and spoken English (German is a plus).
  • Experience with national and international funding schemes (like SNSF, ERC) is helpful.
  • Familiarity with research contracts, consortium, and collaboration agreements in international academic settings is an advantage.
  • Prior experience supporting research activities, such as proposal development and publications, is valued.
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary and internationally diverse teams is a plus.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach and interest in helping the group grow in the long term.
