Deine Aufgaben

  • Contribute to LC–MS/MS method development and benchmarking, focusing on untargeted workflows and robust acquisition strategies.
  • Design, execute, and document high-quality measurements for internal and external projects, including quality control and troubleshooting.
  • Operate and optimize automated sample preparation workflows, including liquid-handling robotics.
  • Drive untargeted data processing workflows, such as feature extraction, alignment, and reporting.
  • Advance annotation strategies using modern approaches like spectral/structure fingerprinting and machine-learning methods.
  • Evaluate and test new technologies in collaboration with partners and vendors, translating ideas into reliable workflows.
  • Monitor and maintain instrument performance, handling routine upkeep and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with team members and partners to align deliverables and timelines.
  • Support training and knowledge transfer through tutorials and documentation.
  • Represent the lab at conferences and scientific meetings.
  • Contribute to scientific manuscripts and publications.

Was du mitbringst

  • Strong passion for metabolomics and technology development.
  • PhD in analytical chemistry, bioengineering, biochemistry, computational biology, systems biology, or a related field.
  • Hands-on expertise in high-resolution LC–MS/MS and experience in metabolomics, lipidomics, or exposomics.
  • Experience with untargeted acquisition and study workflows, including quality control and reproducible practices.
  • Deep knowledge of untargeted processing pipelines, such as feature extraction, alignment, and reporting.
  • Expertise in annotation and identification techniques, including library-based and in-silico methods, fingerprinting, and familiarity with machine-learning approaches.
  • Experience with automation for sample preparation, including liquid-handling robotics.
  • Strong technical skills in mass spectrometry operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Proactive and collaborative personality with excellent communication skills.
  • Interest or experience in advanced activation or fragmentation concepts is a plus.
  • Strong computational skills (R/Python) and workflow automation are desirable.
