Join a leading research team to advance riverine ecosystem science by applying and developing new underwater imaging technology. You will work on an interdisciplinary project to study drift in riverine systems and help transform how aquatic organisms are monitored in their natural habitats.

Deine Aufgaben

  • Deploy, operate, and maintain the Riverine Organism Drift Imager (RODI) at field sites in Switzerland and internationally, especially in Finland.
  • Develop and lead new research ideas using RODI for drift studies in riverine systems.
  • Test, benchmark, and validate RODI as a drift sampling tool by comparing it with traditional methods.
  • Work with project partners to develop and apply machine-learning models for RODI data.
  • Design and manage an image-based database for data collected from live organisms with RODI.
  • Contribute to improvements of RODI hardware and software based on field and analytical feedback.
  • Write and co-author scientific publications and present findings at international conferences.
