You will help develop new ways to print thermo-electric materials onto metal surfaces that are not flat. This work is part of a big project with partners from ETH Zurich, Inspire AG, and industry. The goal is to make devices that use heat to move or work, which can be useful in space where weight and size matter a lot.

Deine Aufgaben

  • Study powdered materials for making special inks
  • Develop and improve the direct ink writing (DIW) process for ceramic and thermo-electric materials
  • Set up, program, and use DIW equipment
  • Find the best steps for removing binders and sintering materials
  • Check the finished materials for things like density, structure, defects, shrinkage, and early thermo-electric properties
  • Test devices under conditions like those in space
  • Help transfer the new technology to industry partners
  • Publish your research and present it at conferences
  • Take part in teaching and lab work outside the main project (about 15-20% of your time)

Was du mitbringst

  • PhD in Material Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry
  • Experience with direct ink writing technology, thermo-electric and ceramic materials, powder technologies, and material testing
  • Track record of scientific publications
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Fluent in English (German is a plus)

Was wir dir bieten

  • Work in a dynamic, international, and interdisciplinary team
  • Support for career development in research or industry
