Join an innovative research group at ETH Zurich specializing in nanofabrication and optical characterization of thin film lithium niobate (TFLN) photonic circuits. In this role, you will work on advancing cutting-edge technology for quantum key distribution and quantum enhanced precision measurements, contributing to impactful scientific progress.

• Advance the nanofabrication of TFLN photonic circuits, focusing on all processing steps needed for low-loss and reliable waveguides
• Develop new components, such as efficient edge couplers
• Work towards the future integration of new materials and processes into photonic circuits
• Participate in two main projects: TFLN circuit development for quantum key distribution and for quantum enhanced precision measurements
• Become skilled in fabrication techniques like electron beam lithography, physical and chemical etching, deposition, and electron microscopy
• Conduct optical simulations, mask design, and optical characterization

• Highly motivated and creative
• Master's degree in physics, nanotechnology, material science, photonics, or a related field
• Interest in working in an interdisciplinary environment at the intersection of quantum photonics and material science
• Willingness to focus on nanofabrication; cleanroom experience is a plus
