Deine Aufgaben

  • Advance the optical design of the HARVY spectrograph, based on an existing concept study.
  • Evaluate, characterise, and optimise key novel optical components.
  • Lead the design and manufacturing of key subsystems during the instrument construction phase.
  • Contribute to preparing and carrying out the on-sky test campaign planned for 2028.
  • Work closely with experts in astrophysics, optical design, and instrumentation.
  • Participate in scientific writing, proposal preparation, and international collaboration.

Was du mitbringst

  • Master's degree in physics, astrophysics, optics, or a closely related field.
  • Strong interest in astronomical instrumentation and exoplanet science.
  • Experience or strong interest in optical design, spectroscopy, or precision measurements.
  • Programming and data analysis skills (e.g. Python, MATLAB, Zemax, or similar tools).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of an international research team.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
