Deine Aufgaben
- Work closely with the group leader and team members to plan projects and experiments
- Develop computational methods and analyze multi-omic datasets (such as transcriptomics, metagenomics, metabolomics, and proteomics)
- Review results and interpret findings from ongoing research projects
- Guide and supervise trainees in computational research
- Develop independent research directions that align with the laboratory’s goals
- Publish scientific results, write grants, and participate in peer review
- Collaborate with academic and industry partners
- Contribute to departmental service, research dissemination, and education
- Balance time on research (about 70%), supervision (about 20%), and service (about 10%)
Was du mitbringst
- PhD or equivalent in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, applied statistics, or a related field
- Over 6 years of postdoctoral or equivalent experience with computational methods for large-scale biological datasets
- Deep expertise in bioinformatics and computational biology methods
- Strong technical skills to independently design and execute projects
- Experience developing and releasing well-documented computational tools
- Ability to guide and mentor trainees in computational research
- Clear communication skills in English for both expert and non-expert audiences
- Proven record of impactful scientific publications
- Experience in grant writing and designing research proposals
- Recognized independent contributions to the field
