Deine Aufgaben

  • Explore commercial SiC ceramic powder and sintering additives
  • Develop SiC thermoplastic feedstocks for FDM printing
  • Program and operate a hybrid FDM printing machine with printing and milling devices
  • Model and optimize the debinding process
  • Design mechanical metamaterials using simulation to achieve high stiffness, strength, energy dissipation, and damage resistance
  • Characterize the morphology, microstructure, and mechanical properties of 3D printed metamaterials

Was du mitbringst

  • PhD in mechanical engineering, ceramics, or a similar field
  • Experience in one or more of: processing or sintering of SiC-based ceramics, microstructural and mechanical characterization, programming of machines, modeling and simulation with Ansys, Abaqus, Comsol, or similar software
  • Strong experimental skills
  • Ability to program and modify hybrid 3D printers
  • Team player with personal responsibility, excellence, and flexibility
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • German language skills are a plus, but not required
