Are you passionate about materials science and eager to develop innovative, eco-friendly materials for real-world applications? Join a dynamic research team focused on advanced porous materials for insulation, sorption, and energy-related uses. You will play a key role in shaping and executing an innovation project, with the opportunity to develop your own ideas and bridge the gap between academic research and industry R&D.

Deine Aufgaben

  • Coordinate project activities and work closely with industrial partners
  • Supervise intern students involved in the project
  • Design and carry out aerogel synthesis strategies and parameter studies
  • Investigate how sol density, precursor, and substrate choices affect aerogel and composite properties
  • Characterize aerogels and aerogel composites
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret experimental data
  • Contribute to patent applications with team support
  • Dedicate up to 20% of your time to related scientific research and help publish results

Was du mitbringst

  • High curiosity, independence, and motivation
  • Doctoral or master's degree in materials engineering, sol-gel chemistry, or a similar field
  • Hands-on experience in synthesizing (silica) aerogels or aerogel composites, either in academia or industry
  • Experience in scaling up aerogel synthesis is a plus, but not required
  • Industry experience is a plus, but not required
  • Familiarity with adhesives selection and bonding optimization is a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge of porous materials characterization techniques is a plus, but not required (e.g., nitrogen sorption, SEM, TEM, TGA, FTIR, NMR, thermal conductivity measurements)
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
